As a result almost all of the functions that are available in the PC based POS application are also available on the Pocket POS device. The waiter training is done in a few hours significantly reducing training costs. Pocket POS uses touch screens operated with a special pen (styles). This makes using Pocket POS similar that using a notepad and pen. Due to the small size of the Pocket PC device it can easily be carried in a shirt-pocket.
Wireless Solution.
wInner Pocket POS uses the latest technology in wireless networking. Implementing the WLAN 801.11b WIFI standards, wInner Pocket POS uses hardware that is readily available, and that is not of a proprietary nature. In a Pocket POS environment, the wInner POS PC serves at the same time as the Handheld server. Pocket POS is a Windows application that runs on Windows Terminal Services. Terminal Services is a component that comes with Windows NT or Windows 2000 server, and that permits to run applications that reside on the server, in a client window on the client PC. All functions in the pocket.
The wInner Pocket POS product can be configured to work with multiple sales-outlets, and multiple mealtimes per outlet. Detailed reporting is thus provided on an overall, or outlet based level. Mealtimes can be setup to activate at pre-programmed times, or if preferred, the mealtime selection can be set as a manual process. wInner Pocket POS uses the same menu card(s) that are programmed on the PC Based POS system. Articles can be grouped which simplifies revenue and statistical reporting per article or article group. wInner also permits to define supplements and preparations (rare, medium, well done,..) and link those to items in the menu card. Advanced functions make it possible to setup different types of menus such as fixed menus, choice menus, and even automatic supplement handling in case a menu is posted and its contents changed. Posting menus in wInner is made very easy, and even adding or correcting articles in menus is possible. Functions are available for “happy hour” handling using a reduction percentage for selected articles. Articles can be programmed with an open price, or open description or even as a comment that can be sent to the kitchen or bar printer to communicate important information.
Easy to Use.
Security.
The wInner Pocket POS system is accessed using a user ID and password identifying the waiter and grants the necessary rights. Per user you can define the outlet(s) that can be accessed, as well as the permissions and rights. This way you can obtain maximum security and control over the system and it’s use. All reports that contain detailed transactions list the user that has made the transaction. Reports can be grouped per user making it possible to track the total sales per waiter and per period.
Course Management.
wInner offers easy course handling. Automatic course handling uses the pre-programmed course of the article in order to group articles per course on the order printers. Using manual course handling, the user will first select the course, and each consecutive article posted will belong to that course. In each scenario, articles can be moved to a different course before the order vouchers are printed in the kitchen or dispense bar.
Printers.
wInner Pocket POS can use various printer types in order to give you maximum comfort and flexibility. In wInner Pocket POS you can even choose to which printer you want to send the check. wInner software can be configured to use one or more kitchen printers. Every article can be programmed to appear on several kitchen printers after the order input.
Payment Control.
Next to a standard set of payment methods (such as cash, credit card, …) it is possible to define additional payment methods for example “Meal Voucher”, “Staff” etc. wInner can be installed with an optional cash drawer and you can program when and for who the drawer needs to open. The system will register all payment transactions made and detailed reports provide you with 100% control.
